The May 20, 2000 meeting has been cancelled because of overlapping shedules with Ventura College's summer semester. So, May 6th is now officially the last meeting of the semester. Stay tuned for any special plans.

These were the titles shown last March 25 meeting:

and Dual 2.
For the April 8 meeting,
about 15 people attended. The shirts were distributed. (Shirts are available
now for $15) Titles shown were Maho Tsukai Tai, Geobreeders, and Twin Signal.
There are two more meetings left (April 22 and May 6).

Meeting March 25, 2000. About 20 people were there. (You gotta ask Jerry about
the titles shown.) We did not get the shirts, but it should be available by
the next meeting.

We will also be selling the shirts at the VC Springfest on April 11 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. $15 each, medium, large, and x-tra large. The shirt looks like this.

The new Ventura Anime Club 2000 Shirts are available for purchase starting on the March 25, 2000 meeting. Each shirt will cost $15 and will be available in medium, large, and extra large.

Anime club and Asian Pacific Student Union will work together at
the Ventura College Springfest. Springfest is sort of a way to usher in
spring and get people to vote in the elections coming up. It will be held on
Aprill 11 from 10:00 until 2:00 pm, and for sure we will be running a
popcorn booth. There has also been some talk about selling club shirts and
other items, but nothing set in stone as far as I know.

Meeting March 11, 2000. The meeting went very well, showed the premiere of Nadesico Movie. A guy from the Oxnard Library was there expressing his interest in expanding the anime and manga there.

Club day was ok. There wasn't as much people last semester. Not much people
signed up. I don't know what happened. We had the monitors, we had the
speakers, etc...but I think we lacked the posters. Last semester, we had
tons of posters that really brings out the booth, but not this semester.
All I can say is we could have done better (but we could also have done
worse).
To sum it all, it was ok. Not so good and not so bad. Just mediocre... he he.
Also, from experience... there is usually more people on Fall semester club
day than Spring... and it was raining... i think.

Meeting December 4, 1999. Fifteen attendees showed. Titles shown: Rurouni Kenshin OVA, Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou Part 3, Nuku Nuku Dash. BTW, Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou means "His And Her Circumstances." The next meeting is the last meeting FOR THIS SEMESTER, December 18. Please check back on special plans for the meeting. On November 26, at the Suncoast
in the Thousand Oaks Mall, while looking for a subtitled Perfect
Blue, Victory met a gentleman from an affiliated club of Washington
State University's Anime Club. Victory came away remembering
three things the dude said: WSU's Anime Club has about EIGHTY
regularly attending members, they watch and exchange anime at
the meetings just like VAC, and they are affiliated with Odyssey
Anime (a large distribution company). Unfortunately, Victory
forgot the dude's name.

Meeting November 21, 1999.
Fifteen attendees showed up, a slight decline. Was it the rain?
Titles shown: Kenshin OVA, Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou Part 2,
Tattoon Master. People are really enjoying Kareshi Kanogo no
Jijou. Two meetings left, let's spread the word.

All designated on-campus
parking, staff and student, may be occupied during the weekend
without permit. Apparently the East Lot is used for swap meets
on the weekend so, as a suggestion, try the staff parking at
the front of the campus or around the East Lot.

Meeting November 6, 1999.
About twenty attendees--excellent turn out. Titles shown: Mahojin
Guru Guru, Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou, Slayers Movie. Poor translation
on the dubbing of the preview of "Samuri X". Mahojin
Guru Guru was humerous. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou caused a buzz.
